Solo: A Star Wars Story, Will It Be Worth It?

If your fanaticism of the Star Wars franchise leads you into hesitancy with the number of films that have been released as of late, you’re not alone. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was met with lukewarm response, as fans of the franchise have eagerly awaited something larger than life. The star power of the film was met with less than favorable criticism from a number of media outlets, although receiving a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. Will the new storyline in the offshoot film Solo: A Star Wars Story fair the same? Only time will tell.

The new trailer brings to life the early days of Han Solo, played here by a slightly known Alden Ehrenreich, most notably known for his role in Hail, Caesar!, a Coen brothers flick. Playing alongside him is the Childish Gambino rapper/actor Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, the role once held by Billy Dee Williams. To fill those shoes, Glover needs to bring his A++ game and stray from his usual monotone delivery, not unlike his recurring role as the star of “Atlanta.” Also co-starring in the new movie is Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Thandie Newton.
The movie drops in theatres on May 25 and we’ll be there.
