Vision The Kid drops Fly By Night

For a young, white rapper, the fact Minneapolis-based emcee Vision the Kid is using sophisticated samples from the likes of Queen, Bob Seger, Imogen Heap, Albert Hammond, Jr. and what sounds like Duran Duran is a little bit astonishing. It’s hard not to draw comparisons to Macklemore; he has the same type of cadence the Seattle superstar has perfected over the past 15 years. Fly by Night is the latest project from Vision the Kid with high-school friend DJ Crab Rangoons (Peter Netzel), who has produced the rapper’s beats for years.
His first effort since 2015’s Golden Era mixtape, Fly By Night allows Vision the Kid to flow over samples from some of the most unlikeliest artists of the last 50 years of pop music.
