In case you missed the news, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore is set to release a new solo album By The Fire (Daydream Library Series), which drops on September 25th. Today he shares the third single from the album “Sirens,” which is accompanied by the video, a mermaid fantasy under the sea here.

The album features musicians Deb Googe (My Bloody Valentine), drummer Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), and a number of others, and was recorded in London up until isolation during the pandemic. Moore offers: “2020 is our time for radical change and collective awareness…these are love songs in a time where creativity is our dignity, our demonstration against the forces of oppression.”
