While I can already hear the soft chants of “please don’t suck” by both comic fans and those of the X-MEN movie franchise, the first look at the trailer for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE has been released. While characters from the Marvel pages are pulled out for the big screen, the story line,  like so many of the previous films, has been altered. The fact that Apocalypse is the first of his kind remains the same but this time around his Horsemen are made up of Magneto, Archangel, Storm and Psylocke. These Horsemen of the Apocalypse are a far cry from the original comic book characters which made sense in a more biblical nature of his coming.

The make-up for the Apocalypse character (Oscar Isaac) looks remarkable, and we get a taste of the team of X-Men here which includes, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Jubilee, possibly Nightcrawler and Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as Raven a/k/a Mistique. Sure the timeline of characters has been mixed for studio use but we all have to suspend disbelief from the get-go for these films anyway so why not?
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will be released on May 27, 2016 and I still hear those chants in my head, “Please don’t suck, please don’t suck…”
