Top Ten of 2017: Adam Phillips of The Gadjits, The Architects, Brandon Phillips & The Condition, Radar State, etc.

Adam Phillips is no doubt a strong contender for the title of “hardest working man in show business.” In addition to running APE Booking, Phillips plays with a variety of bands, including The Architects, The Gadjits, Brandon Phillips & The Condition, Other Americans, and Radar State, who are currently on the road supporting Say Anything.
Ghettoblaster caught up with Phillips recently to get his “best of the year” list, and true to his nature, he delivered and then some. Check out his lists below.
Top 10 Favorite Drummers of 2017
No way! I’m not doing this. Nah!
Those other drummers are my competition. There’s no way I’m going to give props to people like Nigel Powell from Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls (I watched him play “Hot For Teacher” perfectly one time during sound check in Philadelphia) or Tucker Rule from Thursday (I mean, FUCK!). If I let my band mates know how good those other drummers are, I could find myself out of a gig, so there’s no way I’m going to do that.
Yeah, please skip this list. Don’t print anything about my love for Jon Theadore’s drumming, or the effortless style of Kelsey Cook (Brandy Clarkes’ drummer) or David Hidalgo Jr., who somehow fucking nails Jormas parts when he took over drumming for The Bronx. Don’t even get me started on Jorma. And there’s no way in hell I’m going to shine an spotlight on people like John Phillip, Eric Riley, Joe Sirois, or Dusty Watson. I’d rather hog all of the glory for myself. Know what I mean? Thanks!

Some of these people released new music in 2017.  Others didn’t, but they’ve been active on tours either kicking lots of ass or making them shake.
