Today, Jacksonville, Florida’s The Caution Children share “Why Won’t You Realize How Smart We Are?”, a facetiously titled track from their forthcoming album Appropriate Music. Clocking in at over ten minutes, the song is an overwhelming testament to the band’s knack for marrying tense, ethereal post-hardcore with searing catharsis.
Recorded at GodCity Studio with Kurt Ballou and Zach Weeks and mastered by Magnus Lindberg, Appropriate Music marks a high point in The Caution Children’s evolving discography. The band calls this particular track “one of our favorite things we’ve ever written,” which might be the only time on record they’ve publicly commented on their own work.
