Spoken Nerd Finds Inspiration Through Electric Jesus. “Praise The Lord And Pass The Ammunition.”

My song, “Altar Call” was inspired by the upcoming comedy, Electric Jesus.  Electric Jesus is a hilarious and thoughtful film that centers around a touring Christian Hair Metal band and stars Brian Baumgardener (aka Kevin from The Office). The film was brought to my attention as it was set to premiere at the beloved Audiofeed Festival in Champaign, IL. I reached out to director Chris White, who sent me the film as a potential candidate for my film-inspired song series and this one really hit home.  I don’t want to say too much as I will be reviewing the film when it officially releases in November. I wanted to make a song that was thought-provoking and fun like the film.  Altar Call was produced by Nathan Zensen, with who I am currently working on a full-length album with. I hope this one resonates with you.
