Song Premiere: Tony Clark "Between Tours"

There are a number of differences in the way some approach music, but for Tony Clark, his style is clean and concise. For years, the New Jersey native has been writing, performing, and touring with his band Prawn. The group’s last album, 2017’s Run, is filled with pop hooks and bass-driven songs that gives new life to indie rock.

Balancing work full-time and music, Tony isn’t one to sit on his laurels. With the self-release of his new album, Dyed In The Wool, on the horizon out October 11th, he takes a slightly different approach but the results still remain the same.

Today he premieres his new single “Between Tours” and shares a few things about his upcoming album:

“I’m very excited to share a song off my first full-length album, “Dyed in the Wool.” I wrote the album after my band Prawn decided to take a break from touring. It’s definitely a transition album. I, for the first time in almost 10 years, wasn’t touring constantly and decided to go back to school for my masters. During my (limited) free time, I’d mess around and wrote some songs. I asked the Prawn guys to help build them out and we came up with Dyed in the Wool. I think it stylistically shares a lot with Prawn songs but has its own sound. I was fortunate enough to team up with Rob Freeman and Greg Dunn to record it last spring. It was a unique experience creating an album as a hobby, rather than something we were going to tour on and release on a label. I’m not sure what the future holds for the project, but for now, I am excited to share it and hopefully play a few shows.”
