Song Premiere: Super Fantastics, “Composition of Me”

Pulling influence from electro-pop to skate-rock and Latin folk, NorCal indie-pop Super Fantastics are set to release their debut LP Home soon.  Today, the band has released the single “Composition of Me.”  Showcasing lyrics that sung with a sharpness and an indie rock flair, “Composition of Me” soars through the speakers with polished songwriting and stellar instrumentals.  Songwriter / lead singer Daniel Schaff says on the single, “Composition of Me” is about self-acceptance. There are fundamental things about my life and personality that I wish were different, but I can’t let only anxiety and regret fill my heart. I have to try to be happy and accept even the parts of me I wish I could change.”

Super Fantastics began during a residency at White Rabbit in San Francisco in 2019. In early 2020, the band dove into full recording mode, hoping to emerge from the lockdown full of new music for their friends.

Home was largely a product of the COVID lockdown with the band spending most of 2020 working, listening, getting perspective, and finding the right unifying themes. The title track, “Home”, was the last to be written, added just before release. It tells the story of Scharff’s experience during the lockdown – being really productive and trying to stay positive, but feeling the repetitiveness of each day, the loneliness, and trying to hang on until we can all be together again.

Home was recorded at Wally’s Hyde Out (Hyde Street Studios) with producer Chris McGrew.
