Song Premiere: St Valentine, ”South Of The Border”

Vocalist and producer Ulrik Denizou Lund is best known as one half of the Norweigan critically acclaimed electronic duo Lemaitre. Lund has recently launched a new solo project, debut self-titled St Valentine EP-out August 14.

Based in Los Angeles, Lunds’ new St Valentine project offers an outlet for the songs that could not fit into the Lemaitre universe. The resulting body of work paints an electronic landscape from a more intimate and lyrically oriented approach. Known for filling dance floors, club rooms and festivals around the world at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Roskilde, St Valentine will be sure to deliver a feel-good party right into your living room.

Today, St Valentine releases his next single off the upcoming EP ”South Of The Border.” Much in the way of the his previously released single ”The End Is Bright, ” listners will become entranced with the hypnotic beats, danceable instrumentals, and crooning vocals.

Here’s Lund on the single: ”I wrote this song on a spontaneous trip I took to Mexico with my friends Jerry Folk and Bearson to write music. In short it’s about running from your problems or a difficult situation. Or escaping yourself and trying to find a new mindset or way of thinking about your situation. The song was also influenced by the beautiful place we wrote it. The title is from a Murakami book “South of the Border, West of the Sun”. The bird song in the first verse is from a bird outside the house we lived who woke us up every morning.”
