Experimental noise band Qui have teamed with Blank City Records to release a genteel cover of the Johnny Mathis classic ‘Misty’ for the holidays. The band will play the Bootleg Theater night of Dec 22 as well and will be selling very special test pressings of the single as show exclusives with the physical x-ray and flexi release happening in early 2018. The single will be released digitally on Christmas day.

“Pee Pee Vs Homo” is an instrumental b-side Track. The physical X-ray and flexi editions will have an exclusive mix of the two tracks that will play as one track.

Give the gift of Qui this Christmas by downloading or streaming the band’s cover of the Johnny Mathis classic “Misty,” which can be enjoyed below. Qui singer/guitarist Matt Cronk had this to say about it:

“While I suppose it’s inherently funny, it’s not a joke. We have always liked to play unlikely covers and chose, ‘Misty’, because, like all of our cover selections, we like it. On a recent tour we played it as an encore. The audiences seemed to appreciate the contrast between our loud, aggressive repertoire and this beautiful jazz standard. It was fun.”
