Song Premiere: Petty Larcenists, "Loud and Ugly"

Minneapolis, Minnesota-based songwriter Jesse Thorson has surpassed all expectations of what a punk rock band should sound like. While there are bands who have celebrated more widespread success, or crossed over to the mainstream, few can hold a candle to what Thorson does. This has never been more apparent than with the release of Stolen Chords and Lifted Riffs, the debut album from Thorson’s latest band, Petty Larcenists.

With a sound that is best described as an amalgam of his work The Slow Death and Pretty Boy Thorson and The Fallen Angels, the Petty Larcenists have created a real rock and roll album flush with all the honesty, grit, and feeling that fans have come to respect and expect out Thorson’s work. Simply, this album may be the best bunch of songs from one of the best songwriters our generation has known and sees release via Rad Girlfriend Records in April.

Today, Ghettoblaster has the pleasure of premiering “Loud and Ugly” from the LP, which you can enjoy below.
