Song Premiere: Drawing Boards, “Poor Bentley”

Brooklyn, New York quartet Drawing Boards are about to drop upon the masses arguably one of the most anticipated albums this summer.  Due out on June 7th via Gentle Reminder Records, The Message offers listeners twelve tracks that are bursting with wheeling guitar riffs and hazy vocals.  Combining members from  Dirty On Purpose, Sisters, TEEN, and Darlings, the collection of raw within Drawing Boards is enough to have you burst with excitement over the new tunes.

Today, Drawing Boards have released the single “Poor Bentley.”  Like much of The Message, the track’s story according to Aaron Pfannebecker is short and sweet.  “Lyrically this song is kind of like an abstract painting of politics and tv news after 2016. Musically, it’s 100% about losing a guitar and finding it again.”

Dig into the crashing drum start, followed by the driving melodies that are filled with alt-pop goodness.  After each spin of “Poor Bentley”, you too will be itching to get your hands on The Message.  Guaranteed.

On June 5th, 6/5 in Brooklyn, the band will be performing at Baby’s All Right with A. Savage (Parquet Courts) and Blush.
