While nepotism may be alive and well throughout the political landscape and industrial machine as captains of industry groom their young, when it comes to music, there’s absolutely no way to replicate talent. Sometimes. Today Nile Marr, the son of famed Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr releases the new single “Only Time Can Break Your Heart,” a tender B-side off his new 7″ record, “How We Drift” (Park The Van). The jangly pop song is filled with lilting backing harmonies and beautiful melodies. It’s a perfect juxtaposition to the driving punch of “How We Drift.”

This isn’t Marr’s first release as a solo artist, releasing his debut long-player Are You Happy Now? back in 2020, which was preceded by his EP Still Hearts.
