Moor Mother returns with a new album for 2019: Analog Fluids of Sonic Black Holes (Don Giovanni Records) drops on November 8. In preparation for the new album, Moor Mother shares the new single, “After Images.”

It’s been 3 years since the debut album, Fetish Bones and the political landscape has shifted drastically at a moment when artists like Moor Mother are necessary. On Analog Fluids, haunting slave narratives are presented as dystopian allegory and negro spirituals are flipped, remixed, and recaptured, only to be digitized into a symbiotic bio-morph program for the post-thumb drive age. The Afrofuturism Moor Mother has cultivated is unique and distinctive, and now with Analog Fluids of Sonic Black Holes, there’s an expanse to the formula already mastered. “After Images” embodies all that and more, and is a wondrous introduction into the new album.
