Last fall, Made of Oak (electronic project from Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso) turned heads with the release of an entrancing, silent rap music video for “Side Rides” off debut EP Penumbra. Today he reveals the remix to “Side RIdes” which finally unveils the lyrics written and performed by Well$ and Professor Toon.  Their vocals inject new urgency and energy into Nick’s “moody melody.”
The “Side Rides” collaboration is a product of the raising North Carolina music scene: Nick and Professor Toon are Durham-based and Well$ is out of Charlotte.  The video, shot in black and white in Durham, was directed by Endless Endless who has worked with Lucero, Sylvan Esso, and Matthew E White among others.
