Quintessential 80s NYC noise rock band Live Skull announces their new album What Could Go Wrong?and share single “Internal Combustion.” What Could Go Wrong? (Bronson Records) arrives November 13, 2026. 

Mark C. says, Sometimes it feels like your head is exploding, sometimes your heart; time to pick up a guitar and write a song.

Musically, What Could Go Wrong? is the sound of getting the right four people in the room together, listening and chiming in when they feel moved; sidelining the conscious mind and letting chance and instinct propel them forward.

“Some people are able to write fluidly, channelling the subconscious…Neil Young says he dreams entire songs,” explains Mark C, “but for us mere mortals we have to trick ourselves into stream-of-consciousness playing, while making sure to record everything. Then comes the detailed work of listening back, piecing jams together and working out the vocals.”

The album moves effortlessly between melody, noise and chaos, contrasting elements that the band consciously pursue to create the core identity of Live Skull. “We were always tugged in different directions from an appreciation for music that explores any one of those categories, so we try to pull it all together.”

Live Skull’s sound has always reflected the diversity of experiences encountered living in such a large, vibrant, industrialized city—”a lot of concrete, a lot of noise, sirens blasting in the middle of night, but so much humanity as well, and music from all over the world floating in the air down large avenues and ricocheting down dark alleys.”
