Laufey & dodie Share Stunning Cover Of “Love To Keep Me Warm”

Twenty-one year old Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter, musician, cellist, guitarist and pianist Laufey releases a stunning Christmas collaboration with chart-topping UK artist dodie today. Two artists that both got their start releasing incredible covers and originals on YouTube and Instagram, Laufey and dodie have long admired each other’s work and are excited to finally release a track together. Recorded between Los Angeles and London, “Love To Keep Me Warm,” the duo’s version of the holiday classic “Winter Weather” out today. dodie says, “Laufey is such a special artist and spirit – I was so lucky to work with her on a Christmas song that is so special to me! Winter Weather has been my favourite Christmas song since I was a kid (it lived on the one festive compilation CD my mum would whip out every year) and so building our own version was loads of fun.”

Laufey adds, “It was truly a joy recording this classic christmas song with dodie, who I’ve looked up to for so many years! The holidays are all about surrounding yourself with loved ones and Love To Keep Me Warm is all about that! We had so much fun arranging and recording piano, clarinet and harmonies between LA and London – we even wrote a little extra bridge!”

Laufey, who has been on an entirely sold-out tour over the past few weeks, has had a whirlwind of a year. Her breakout single “Street By Street” earned her a big social following, hit #1 on Icelandic Radio, her own new music series on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Sounds, the distinction of Best New Artist at the Iceland Music Awards, and a big following that includes fans like Billie Eilish, Willow Smith and more. All of this took place before her debut EP entitled Typical of Me was even dropped this Spring, and has since been streamed over 20 million times across all platforms. Since, her headline shows in NYC, Los Angeles, and London sold out in a matter of minutes, she performed with Lake Street Dive, and even collaborated with London’s premier orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, on a single entitled “Let You Break My Heart Again.” Additionally, she recently performed a KEXP session, and made a breathtaking appearance on Gísla Marteini, Iceland’s most viewed late night show, performing “Like The Movies.”
