Earlier this year J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) released his first solo album Un-becoming (Dischord). While the album sticks to a formula Robbins has been known for – creating post-punk anthems utilizing walls of guitar and crisp/clean melodies – his songs never repeat themselves, as he finds new ways to deliver sonic blasts from his guitars and allows melodies to find their own way through songs.
Today Robbins shares a new two-song digital single on Monday morning, including one original, “Winter Sun,” and a cover of John Cale’s “Magic & Lies.” The songs are beyond stunning. He heads out on tour next month, performing his first solo band dates since releasing his album. Dates are listed below.
