Rapper-singer Ivy Sole shares the track and video for her latest single, “Backwoods” which features fellow Philadelphia based artist Anyee Wright. It comes as she announces the title and release date of her debut full-length studio album, OVERGROWN, out September 18th on Les Fleurs Records. The video showcases the duo keeping cool in Ivy’s 4Runner, all the while keeping the lookout for an apparent heist. With spunky animations and a couple of thought-provoking messages, the video strikes the perfect balance between lighthearted and being intellectually stimulating. The juxtaposition of imagery is obvious here as thoughts of despair float on top of catchy beats and hooks.
