This is the moment when many industrial music fans share a surprised excitement at the return of Godflesh. These industrial metal pioneers Godflesh will release their new album Post Self on November 17 via frontman Justin K. Broadrick‘s Avalanche Recordings. Over two years in the making, Post Self explores the less metal side of Godflesh, taking in their formative influences to conjure something more informed by late 70’s/early 80’s post-punk and industrial. The album deals with themes of anxiety, depression, fear, mortality, and paternal/maternal relationships. They’ve shared the title track of the album which is an amazing display of deafening repetition done correctly.
