EMÆL Shares Single "Yellowtail"

Having been compared to neo-soul group Hiatus Kaiyote and indie rockers Alt-J, So Cal’s own EMÆL (pronounced E-my-el) are going about imprinting their own sound towards cool, cinematic songs.
Coming off from their debut album Glasswork (set for release on February 16th), EMÆL has released the single “Yellowtail”.  Sharp indie pop fills up the futuristic vocals along with the entire song.  Lyrically, “Yellowtail” and the others that make up Glasswork are inspired by the 13th-century poem “Chickpea to Cook” by Rumi, and explores the struggle of staying grounded when constantly inundated with the monotony of daily life.
EMÆL  wanted to challenge themselves to step out of their comfort zone while maintaining the band’s indie chamber-pop sonic roots in Glasswork.  “Yellowtail” is a great leadoff to showcasing this vision.
