Delacey Shares First Single Off Upcoming Album

LA singer and multi-platinum songwriter Delacey has shared the first single off her forthcoming new album The Girl Has A Dream. “Boy With The Blues,” written and produced with frequent collaborator Ido Zmishlany (Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Demi Lovato), is a dreamy, slow burning indie-pop song that takes on the subject of intense love, both the bad and the good. Says Delacey, “Although ‘Boy With The Blues’ is very personal and about my very real relationship, it has a greater message that I just love. Not only accepting someone’s darkness but really loving that part of them. Adoring them to the point of feeling like they could do anything and you’d still love them… which is both beautiful and toxic in such a phenomenal way to me.”

The single is accompanied by the Danica Kleinknecht-directed video, shot on film in Marina Del Rey.

“Boy With The Blues” is the first single on Delacey’s new album, The Girl Has a Dream, set for release on August 6th via her Delicate Flower label. Writing, recording and producing the record with Zmishlany in upstate NY, and often in front of a brown bear she named Clementine, she described the making of the record in 2020 and breaking free from her record label, “Sonically, “Boy With The Blues” sets the tone for my second album, The Girl Has A Dream, which I’m extremely proud of. This year has obviously been a weird one but on top of everything, I left my label and am now an independent artist. I can’t really explain how that feels except to say, I feel vindicated… Also nervous. It’s just going to feel good to know everything I’m releasing, music & visuals, will all be 100% me.”
