Dead Stars share "Unpopular," tour (2016)

Dead Stars’ sophomore LP, Bright Colors, is due out March 4 on the band’s own Weird Tree Records, and today you can hear a cut from the album;” Unpopular” is now streaming via Soundcloud, and the upcoming release is currently available for pre-order.

Having drawn comparisons to ’90s favorites like Teenage Fanclub, Weezer, and The Lemonheads, there’s no denying that there’s a nostalgic quality to Dead Stars’ sound, but the Brooklyn-based trio manages to keep things fresh & modern. Crunchy, fuzzed-out guitars pair with catchy pop melodies and the band’s no-gimmicks approach to songwriting, resulting in songs that fans can sing along to after just one listen. Dead Stars play a record release show at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on March 4 and will be touring down to SXSW next month — see below for a list of upcoming shows (more dates TBA.)
