Bill Callahan, the artist formerly known as Smog, shares a cover of the Smog tune, “Let’s Move To The Country.” Who better to give another rendition of the song than the artist who penned it himself? The song does maintain the original bounce but eschews the star-crossed semi-tragic implications of his late-90s version,  Bill Callahan’s new rendition finds fresh life, flexibility and freedom in the promise of the next chapter played out in the hinterland – but is it a prequel or sequel? Heaven knows. Callahan’s set to release his new album Gold Record (Drag City) on September 4th, 2020.
