Asher White (Joyful Noise) shares “Nightingale Version”

Asher White has had a remarkable last 9 months. The 25-year-old NYC-by-way-of-Rhode Island artist released 8 Tips For Full Catastrophe Living (Joyful Noise) last SeptemberWhile the album was far from a debut, it was a breakthrough for White, building on the buzz created by the 2025 album Home Constellation Study, earning high praise from many.

In February, White returned to release a full length cover version of Jessica Pratt’s self-titled debut LP, which was received enthusiastically by Pratt herself. Today White is returning to share the first new music since releasing the 2025 LP, and it’s a single called “Nightingale Version (Sailor’s Moon)”.

White says of the single:

Written in 2019 my sophomore year of college and originally appearing on that year’s In The Quarry. sort of embarrassing “young” lyrics but an honest and undeniable melody. very meaningful song to me that i feared losing to time and wanted to dust off; the drums, vocals, and guitar are updated performances but i could not capture or recreate the idiosyncrasies of the original piano and organ takes, which were recorded in a cavernous old church room on the RISD campus that someone had dragged an old Hammond organ and rickety upright piano into.

The track arrives ahead of a run of tour dates that will see White play on the West Coast for the first time. Full details of those dates can be found below.
