Album Premiere | Scene Killers, “Beat, Beat, Beat”

When he upped sticks across the Atlantic from Berkeley, California, little did notorious punk vocalist, Jesse ‘Luscious’ Townley know that within months, he would be in Nottingham, U.K.’s infamous powerhouse Stuck On A Name Studios recording new music in a new gang with a bunch of Midlands oiks. Here with their second release, Beat Beat Beat, Scene Killers deliver a nine-tracker that straddles dissonant, jagged Greg Ginn-isms, possesses the raging garage swing of New Bomb Turks, and nods to everything from Jawbreaker to Fang to Minutemen to Token Entry.

The whole, wondrous racket is topped off with the splendidly snot-nosed voice that helmed Blatz, The Criminals, the Pathogens, and more.

“After lifetimes of crisscrossing the planet playing punk and metal, the Scene Killers have come together in Nottingham to knock ‘yer socks off,” Townley boasts.

Gather ’round, and yell along to this and the rest of Scene Killers’ punchy mid- and fast-tempo punk—Just mind the swinging microphone and the jagged chords!

Beat, Beat, Beat sees release on October 14. Order it Here.
