Album Review: Bad Weather California, Sunkissed, Family Tree Records

BAD WEATHER CALIFORNIA
SUNKISSED
It comes as no surprise that Bad Weather California ended up on Akron/Family’s label. The two bands share something in common. It’s not really their roots or the different genres they incorporate into their sounds. It’s not even the jangly guitar tones that both bands are fond of. It’s a sense of pure joy that emanates from their music. It’s clear that the guys in Bad Weather California love what they do. Their excitement rings true in each and every track. All eleven songs are catchy and easy to sing along with. There’s also a certain classic feel to this album. One moment it’s channeling ‘60s psychedelic rock, the next it’s skate punk. EIther way this album is full of short, lighthearted songs. It’s just plain fun. (Family Tree Records) Kris Poland
