EarthQuaker Devices, in partnership with Cave & Canary Guitars and Reverend Guitars, announces the 10th anniversary jubilee of its signature community festival, EarthQuaker Day. This milestone event will take place on Saturday, August 1, at the EarthQuaker Devices headquarters in downtown Akron, Ohio.

What began in August 2016 as a humble open house has evolved into a premier summer destination for musicians, gearheads, and families from near and far. EarthQuaker Day 2026 promises a full day of free, family-friendly fun, complete with live music, exclusive pedal clinics, guided tours of the EarthQuaker workshop, a massive gear raffle, local food trucks, and an expanded vendor marketplace with exclusive deals and products.

The concept for EarthQuaker Day was originally dreamed up a decade ago by Chief Operating Officer Luke Zollinger as a way to welcome the public into the company’s then-new, spacious headquarters on Akron’s West Bowery Street. While founder and president Jamie Stillman initially admitted skepticism over whether people would want to “hang out in a parking lot in Ohio in August playing pedals,” the inaugural event blew expectations away, drawing over 500 curious community members and pedal enthusiasts.

Despite taking a couple of years off during the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival has continued to expand in scope and reach throughout its history. This year, EarthQuaker Devices welcomes the largest assembly of vendors to date to the festival’s vibrant marketplace—including industry heavyweights like Sweetwater, Seymour Duncan, Audio Technica, and PRS Guitars; local institutions like Akron Recording Company, Bent Tree Coffee, and Killer Video; as well as fellow boutique builders from around the world like Keeley Electronics, Thirdman Hardware, Cosmodio Instruments, and KGR Harmony.

“Every year we try to fine-tune the experience and dial it in just a little better,” adds CEO Julie Robbins. “Celebrating ten years of this festival is a testament to the incredible DIY spirit of our team and the unmatched enthusiasm of our community.”

In addition to the robust vendor lineup, visitors to EarthQuaker Day will be treated to pedal clinics from Spencer Audio, Voltic Electronic Devices, and musician/comedian Dave Hill, as well as a special Q&A session featuring Sunn O))) guitarist Greg Anderson and Stillman.

Los Angeles-based artist Kaycie Satterfield and Northeast Ohio’s own Anya Van Rose will cap off the day with live performances before the festivities move over to Musica (51 E Market St, Akron) for the EarthQuaker Afterparty featuring more free live music from Arms & Armour, Hell Is Here, and New York City’s own A Place To Bury Strangers.

We’re incredibly grateful to Akron and to the pedal community for keeping this tradition alive.”

The festivities officially kick off on Friday, July 31 with EarthQuaker’s Eve with a 6 p.m. performance of Kala Chandra: For Sustained Guitars and Amplification at 526 Grant Street in Akron followed by Celestyn, Supercorrupter, and †The Lord† (Greg Anderson) & Lisa Bella Donna at Musica (51 E Market St, Akron).

EarthQuaker Day officially opens its doors to the public on Saturday, August 1, at 11 a.m., at which time attendees can begin touring the facility and shopping exclusive deals and pedals in one-of-a-kind colorways. 

Attendees who bring a new, unused hygiene item to donate to Friends in Tents (an Akron-based 501(c)(3) non-profit providing immediate support to lower-income families in Summit County) can spin the EarthQuaker Devices “Discount Wheel” at registration.
