Roe v. Wade has been overturned and this devastating Supreme Court decision will result in abortion being criminalized in half of U.S. states. Good Music, in collaboration with with NOISE FOR NOW, has announced a new fundraising compilation benefitting organizations facilitating abortion access to those people affected by restrictive regulations in their home states. Good Music To Ensure Safe Abortion Access To All will be available for only 24 hours exclusively on Bandcamp this Friday, October 7th starting at 12am PT as part of the Bandcamp Fridays initiative. “Every person faced with the choice to keep a pregnancy or not should have access to a safe and legal abortion should they choose one,” note Tegan and Sara. “Their body, their choice.”

100% of the net proceeds will benefit non-profit organizations working to provide abortion care access to all: Brigid Alliance – a referral-based service that provides travel, food, lodging, child care and other logistical support for people seeking abortions; and NOISE FOR NOW who are working with Abortion Care Network to support independent abortion clinics. 

“Independent clinics provide the majority of abortion care in the US, yet these dedicated providers often lack the visibility and resources they need to keep their doors open,” notes Jay Thibodeau, Communications Director at Abortion Care Network. “Donating to keep clinics open in every state makes a huge difference to those who need care, and bold, public support for indie providers is deeply meaningful. It also matters that people who have, provide, and support abortion know that they are not alone: most people in the US support the right to abortion, and we are less alone when we can see and join unified, unapologetic calls to liberate abortion.”

Good Music To Ensure Safe Abortion Access To All is produced by Brilliant Corners Artist Management, Dave Eggers, Like Management, NOISE FOR NOW, Panache Management, TMWRK and Q Prime. It is the latest fundraising project from the Good Music project whose Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy compilation series in 2020 raised over $600,000 between its two installments.
