The One With All the Birthday Presents

On this episode: Luke rudely interrupts our introduction and is very rude to Brian, our dear cousins play a game of Shark Tank and Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, Brian plays a total “Luke Song” and Luke plays a total “Brian Song,” they get into some deep topics like if it actually pays off to be meek and how sometimes you need to take care of your own well being first before you can take care of others, and of course they play eight of the best songs you’ll hear this week.

Every week Ghettoblaster feature writers (and dear cousins!) Brian LaBenne and Luke LaBenne bring you fresh new songs with the hopes of introducing you to some that you may consider to be the best song ever.  Both Brian and Luke have no idea what songs the other has picked, so what you are hearing is their genuine reaction to listening to the songs together.  Also, if you enjoy this episode, head to ITunes to subscribe and rate our podcast with the highest rating available to you.

“When we were talking with Kevin about what to do for the split, one of the things he suggested was to cover different songs from the same artist. The Cure has been a band that I’ve always loved and I thought that we could both find songs that we could make our own. Admittedly I always gravitate toward love songs, and “In Between Days” is one of my all-time favorites.”

Devinyl Splits No. 3 is a part of Kevin Devine’s year long Devinyl Splits series. The series features Kevin Devine teaming up with six different artists throughout 2015.

The split comes out September 11 via Bad Timing Records.

Tigers Jaw have announced the departure of Adam McIlwee, Dennis Mishko and Pat Brier; with this announcement also came the news that the band would be cancelling their upcoming European tour dates.

However, the band have no plans to cancel their upcoming UK tour and even went on to announce they’ll be doing a U.S. tour this May and June. The group go on to state that their next two tours will be the last for the foreseeable future, but did not say if they would be officially breaking up or merely going on hiatus.
