Nashville’s Adia Victoria has had quite a 2015 so far. She has shared new tracks to much critical acclaim, toured the U.S., and made her first appearance in a glossy women’s fashion magazine.  With no signs of slowing down – she has just confirmed more tour dates –  now seems like a good time to catch you up to speed on all that has happened and will be happening!

Adia – who Rolling Stone earlier this year chose as “an artist you need to know” – just finished a month tour with Hurray For The Riff Raff.  She will be playing at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on May 7 (with Those Darlins) and is excited to announce new tour dates with many more to be added.  See the list below.

While on the road she made available a tour-only EP that contained all her released material to date in one place.  That included her debut track “Stuck In The South,” its’ follow up “Sea of Sand” and the more recently shared “Howlin Shame” which premiered via Afropunk who interviewed Adia as well.  You can read the feature here.

In glossy magazine news, Adia Victoria is featured in the May issue of TeenVogue!  They pegged her as one of the “Best New Singers For 2015.” Read the story and and check out the gorgeous photo of Aida HERE.

Adia has been making major waves since the release of “Stuck in the South.” Her music doesn’t seek to fetishize the South as so many others do, but rather boldly and starkly she sings about her experience growing up to immigrant parents in South Carolina. Yale University was so impressed by her songwriting and relationship to blues music that they recently had her speak on a panel alongside Greil Marcus and Jack White regarding Revenant Records.
