Mike Adams at His Honest Weight shares "Bronze Worlds"

Bloomington, Indiana’s Mike Adams at His Honest Weight will release Casino Drone on May 20 via Joyful Noise. Adams’ third solo album, it features a mix of synthpop sparkle, shoegaze drone, classic rock fervor and sonic textures, resulting in sharply intelligent songs that balance whimsy and melancholy. The album is currently available for pre-order.
“Bronze Worlds” opens the record with dreamy, swirling layers of instrumentation and heartfelt lyrics, setting the tone for the collection of personal, intimate songs that follow. You can stream the track here.

Casino Drone is an album about the fabric of ordinary life: listening to the radio as your car heats up on a winter morning, waking up next to the same person for the rest of your life, getting a hug from your son. It comes as a follow up to 2011’s Oscillate Wisely and last year’s Best of Boiler Room Classics, but Adams says that it was more challenging to make than either of his previous records because there was no big life crisis to fuel his creativity. Written during a time of stability and normality in his life, it’s an attempt at answering the simple question “now what?” and a meditation on the everyday life as something epic. It speaks to the desire to settle in without ever “settling down” — something we can all relate to.
