Bethlehem, Pennsylvania’s Time Being is a band that clearly takes inspiration from indie, punk, noise, folk, and art rock, to create compositions that tackle the uncertainty of modern American life through the lens of beauty, imagination, and humor. Time Being’s debut album, Would You Rather Have a Ceiling?, sees release on digital stream platforms and CD via Killer Tofu Records on September 28.
The first single from their forthcoming album is “Mantra.” Of the track, Time Being’s Marc Denke says, “In the music, I hear my friends and I, my family and my bandmates. I hear our everyday struggles through COVID lockdown in early 2020, through new parenthood, through lost loved ones and lost parts of selfhood. Though these struggles are sometimes troubled, I can feel all of us celebrating the whole of one another regardless.”
Time Being celebrates the album on its release date at National Sokols in Bethlehem at 7pm. The all-ages event also includes performances by Rubix Pube, John Galm (Snowing, Slow Warm Death, Mt. Worry), and McGarnagle.
