Four years since releasing their debut album Dead Rose, New York City’s The Twin returns with their second LP, Blue Honey (Mind Over Matter Records), set to release deep in the heart of Indian Summer. Pre-order it here.
The eight songs on Blue Honey are a marked departure from the breakup-tinged darkness of the earlier record; turning the corner from the indolent melancholy of ending, to the impulsive recklessness and debauchery of searching for, and finding, new love. Recovery, healing, depravity, and euphoria–these themes suffuse the new album in a heavier, but more uplifting sound.
During the late winter of 2023, original members, including singer/songwriter Bryan Louie (of Common Sage, Kai Mark) and drummer Jeff Gensterblum (of Coalesce, The Casket Lottery), recruited old friends Arty Shepherd (of Beinn, Errortype 11), and bassist Michael MacIvor (of Candira, Lamacchia) to help flesh out the new songs and put some meat on The Twin’s new sound. The result unfurls like an ocean wave pounding a rocky coast.

Blue Honey was produced, mixed, and mastered at Timber Studios by Adam Cichocki, whose input was indispensable in capturing the feeling in the new tracks. Blue Honey will be available September 12 on digital and vinyl formats.
