San Luis Obispo sits roughly 135 miles west of Bakersfield, California, and the small town is known mostly for its chewed pieces of gum covering Bubblegum Alley than it is for its music. But in all likelihood, that should change after we all begin listening to Caleb Nichols, who is set to release the debut album Ramon (Kill Rock Stars), this coming June 24, 2022.
Not to be confused with the television character of the same name (Westworld), Nichols weaves together delicate song structures around an abundance of melody and harmony. Growing up with a Beatles fascination throughout their childhood, influences aren’t so obvious, allowing the artist to shine with their own brilliance. Nichols has a flair for the theatrical within lyrical wordplay allowing each song its own cascading imagery, drenched in varying color schemes.
Today, Caleb Nichols shares the video for the title track of the new album as Nichols gracefully utilizes an acoustic guitar, as cooing backing vocals accentuate Nichols’ fragile & tender voice. Tour dates are listed below and preorders are available here.
