Following last month’s album announcement for his new Birds Of Paradise (Dear Life Records), set to be released on May 22, 2026, Thomas Dollbaum shares the new single “Coyote” and adds tour dates with Widowspeak.
“Coyote” features Dollbaum harmonizing with Jake Lenderman on drums, bolstered by bassist Nick Corson (The Convenience, Video Age) and guitarist Josh Halper (Lily Haitt, Peter One). Its accompanying video was shot by Dollbaum and Cora Nimtz in Lutcher, Louisiana on Christmas Eve, one of the many locations along the Mississippi River levees where locals ignite elegant bonfire structures and shoot off fireworks to celebrate the holiday season.
Dollbaum on “Coyote”: This song is about a few separate memories I have that blended over time. The first memory is convincing a friend who was drunk and could barely stand to not jump off a roof into a pool. Another memory is of my friend lighting his uncle’s RV on fire after an argument, and then many memories of controlled burns and coyotes crossing roads in the area of Florida where I grew up.
