PLATO III Shares Title Track To New Album, ‘Grown’

Los Angeles by way of West Texas artist, Plato III – the multigenre hip hop project of Ryan Silva, announces Grown (Polyvinyl Record Co.) – the stunning new album, his second full-length with the label, and fifth overall. The album is set for release on September 26, 2025. To celebrate, Plato III will be making his live return to the stage for two special events – Saturday September 6th @ the legendary Lower East Side venue Pianos, and Saturday September 27th @ Permanent Records in Los Angeles for the Grown Record Release Show.

In addition to today’s news, Plato is also sharing a vignette for the album’s title track “Grown.” Built atop an ethereal shake of funk-laden verses, Plato’s reflections at the onset of adulthood give way to a syncopated four on the floor soca beat, while staccato guitars gracefully layer up against the chill of growing older. Described as “a working class rapper jam,” the track was inspired by songs like North Carolina duo Little Brother’s 2003 track, “Speed.”

Speaking to the song’s deeper meanings, Plato reveals that “It’s about accepting the shift from the freedom of your youth to the realities of being an adult, where things like paying rent, holding down a job, and raising kids become your new responsibilities. Also wrestling with the idea of how to keep rapping once life gets real.” Taking the question one step further, Plato brings a piece of home with him by tagging in fellow Abilene, Texas native Xay III to contribute on the track, describing him as an rapper he admires for “working in the oil fields to provide for his family while still making time for the studio.” Adulthood is a central theme that is heavily interwoven throughout Grown, including recent singles “Stay Sane,” “I Want (Money),” and “Good Problems.”
