Iguana Death Cult Share “Reckless Running”

Dutch rock band Iguana Death Cult have returned with their highly anticipated fourth long player, Guns Out (Greenway Records/The Reverberation Appreciation Society), due for release April 10, 2026.

Guns Out marks a return to punchy garage rock and features honest self-reflection, addressing escapism, mental strain, and creative renewal. The result channels their early punk and garage roots, powered by Tobias Opschoor’s razor-sharp riffs, Uri Rennert’s (Häxxan and Brian Jonestown Massacre) relentless drumming, Jimmy de Kok’s groovy rhythms and Jeroen Reek’s raw, emotive vocals.

Following recent singles “I Like It, It’s Nice” and the title track, the Rotterdam rockers return with new single “Reckless Running,” a bombastic, high-energy track that embodies its title.

Old habits die hard they say, and for the longest time I was a habitual escapist,” the band shares.
Running away from my problems, doing the same shit expecting different outcomes. Got me stuck in a self induced groundhog’s day of sorts. Even though now I’ve found my bearings in life, I sometimes get drawn back into those darker echelons.”

On Guns Out, Iguana Death Cult is exercising self-reflection on multiple levels: by breaking with the more indie-like, art-punk-funk sound of their previous album (Echo Palace, released through Innovative Leisure in 2023) and returning to a more ‘in your face’ punchy garage-rock style. Tough yet introspective, Guns Out captures a band coming to terms with its own evolution and the turbulent world around it.
