Dan Bejar is never one to be trifled with when he’s recording under the Destroyer moniker, which has amassed a healthy catalog of music throughout the years. The pop masterpieces created by Destroyer have always been filled with gorgeous melodies and an unassuming vocal delivery.

Today, Destroyer shares “Cue Synthesizer,” the third single from the upcoming album, Have We Met (Merge Records), out on January 31st. The news also arrives before tours of North America and Europe later in the year.

Of the single, Bejar offers that it “Maybe the most audacious piece of music Destroyer’s laid to tape,” ‘Cue Synthesizer’ adds a bit of humor to the bandleader’s trademark wordplay. ‘Cue synthesizer, cue guitar,’” he commands over a build-up of instrumentation. Self-aware and much more relaxed, the groover is unlike anything heard from Have We Met so far.

To accompany the new album, Destroyer hits the road next month for a tour of North America, followed by later spring dates in Europe. Dates listed below.
