Many times life comes full circle and what’s old is relatively new again. Such is the case for Deadpan Darling, the collaborative effort made by Ceschi Ramos and Blue Sky Black Death. Songs were never released because over the years “hard drives were lost, songs were erased & the project was presumed dead.” But over a decade later a discovery was made and rumors of the death of Deadpan Darling were highly exaggerated, giving us nine songs with an additional couple of bonus tracks.
Today Deadpan Darling shares its new video for “Cartoon Hand,” directed by Morgan’s Brother, conceptualized & influenced by Marcel Marceau. Ceschi gives a bit more insight regarding it:
“‘Cartoon Hand’ was actually the first song recorded back in 2005 during the Deadpan Darling sessions with Blue Sky Black Death. It’s the story of my first true heartbreak. Now many years later Morgan’s Brother, from L.A., asked to film a video for it based around the mime work of Marcel Marceau. It was an incredibly cathartic & emotional experience because I heard the news about my friend Richard Benjamin passing away moments before we filmed.”
