Genre-bending artist and producer BLK ODYSSY unveils his chilling new video, “Last Resort,” from his recently released third studio album, 1-800-FANTASY (Earthchild/Empire). The video serves as the grand finale of the conceptual and visual narrative of a turbulent teenage boy’s obsession with his elusive high school crush. Picking up from the suspenseful door knock in “Changes,” “Last Resort” plunges viewers into a dark and haunting climax, delivering a dramatic close to the saga. BLK ODYSSY confronts himself and his crush in a series of tense and emotionally charged scenes, spiraling into a chaotic frenzy. The video masterfully captures his descent into mania, culminating in a shocking and dramatic arrest. With striking visuals and an intense storyline, BLK ODYSSY showcases his acting prowess, delivering a haunting portrayal of obsession and downfall.
This 13-track opus 1-800-FANTASY blends alternative hip-hop, funk rock, progressive pop, R&B, and indie elements. The album recounts a gripping tragedy of a teenage boy’s obsession with an elusive woman through hotline exchanges and cinematic videos, ultimately spiraling into his madness. The album’s bright, melodic soundscapes are starkly contrasted by its dark, intense lyrics, showcasing BLK ODYSSY’s ability to weave raw, visual storytelling into an emotional rollercoaster.
Following his recent single and video “Changes,” his collaborations with Joey Bada$$ on “Stank Rose” and “XXX” ft. Wiz Khalifa, and his performance of “Phase” on COLORS, BLK ODYSSY’s new album continues to expand genre boundaries and his own artistic prowess, all while paying homage to his musical roots in R&B and funk.
This summer, BLK ODYSSY performed at the 15th Annual Roots Picnic Festival in Philadelphia, alongside artists such as Lil Wayne & The Roots, André 3000, and Gunna. BLK ODYSSY continues to tour in promotion of his latest album. Dates listed below.
