Aesop Rock Shares “Call Home”

Aesop Rock has released a new video for “Call Home,” a standout from his latest album I Heard It’s a Mess There Too, out now via Rhymesayers Entertainment. The animated clip, directed by longtime visual collaborator Justin “Coro” Kaufman, arrives as anticipation builds for the album’s retail release on December 12.

Surprise released this October, I Heard It’s a Mess There Too is built entirely from Aes’s own productions,  stripping back his trademark density in favor of space, simplicity, and emotional clarity, with each song sporting crisp drums, humming basslines, and lyrical snapshots that trace the rhythms of uncertainty, communication, and connection in an off-kilter world.

The release of “Call Home” follows the album’s initial rollout, in which a wave of online speculation was sparked when a handful of fans reported receiving mysterious white-label test pressings of unreleased Aesop Rock music. The full project was released just days after, prompting swift critical praise and further affirming Aesop’s prolific evolution.

The new project arrived just months after his critically lauded full-length Black Hole Superette; a sprawling, collaborative counterpart to the more introspective I Heard It’s a Mess There Too. In retrospect the two albums showcase the duality of Aesop’s current creative headspace: expansive and surreal on one side, spare and searching on the other.

I Heard It’s a Mess There Too is available now on all streaming platforms. The retail edition arrives December 12, with physical editions and bespoke merch items available now at AesopRock.com.
