Artist: Massive Attack
Song: “Saturday Come Slowly” (from Heligoland)
Leave it up to Massive Attack to make something more meaningful out of a music video. In this one, the song takes second stage to the telling of a story about how music and sound were used as a torture/interrogation device at Guantanamo Bay. The song itself goes through a bit of its own torture, getting twisted, stretched and distorted to make an example of what former Gitmo detainee Ruhal Ahmed describes the torture to be like.
Good on you, Massive Attack. Also: Non-Newtonian fluid.
