Top Ten of Twenty Fourteen: Jeff Lohrber of Enabler and Today Is The Day

Enabler

Enabler

Jeff Lohrber has long been one of the most prolific and accomplished musicians in modern heavy music. 2014 was no exception with releases of records by Enabler, in which he handles vocals and guitar, and Today Is The Day, in which he’s the drummer. Somehow he still found time to lend guest vocals to American Heritage’s Prolapse.
Ghettoblaster recently caught up with him to discuss some of his favorite heavy records of the year. This is what he told us.
So many good albums were released this year, and there’s still a few I left out on this list. I’d say my top three out of this list would be Godflesh, Foo Fighters and Morbus Chron.
At The Gates, At War With Reality
Baptists, Bloodmines Behemoth, The Satanist
Cannibal Corpse, A Skeletal Domain
Crowbar, Symmetry in Black
Earth, Primitive and Deadly
Entombed AD, Back to the Front
Eyehategod – S/T
Foo Fighters, Sonic Highways
Godflesh, World Lit Only By Fire
Gridlink, Longhena
The Haunted, Exit Wounds
Martyrdod, Elddop
Miasmal, Cursed Redeemer
Morbus Chron, Sweven
Scott Walker + Sunn O))), Soused
Sunn O))) + Ulver, Terrestrials Swans, To Be Kind
Thou, Heathen
Yautja, Songs of Descent
Not to mention, I was part of three records this year that I am extremely proud of: Today is the Day, Animal Mother, Enabler, La Fin Avsolue Du Monde, and the final American Heritage record, Prolapse.
2014 has been one of the best years in music. I’m grateful to be able to call a number of people in the bands that I mentioned friends.
