If truth be told, Terra Lopez is a workhorse. With her band and other projects aside from writing and recording music, her work ethic stands apart from most. Rituals Of Mine, the group she’s fronted since 2010, is set to release its latest Hype Nostalgia (Carpark Records) on September 25th. In the meantime, the group has taken things one or ten steps further with Hype Nostalgia TV, a visual podcast both Lopez, and drummer Adam Pierce have created. Isolation sometimes breeds creativity and with the new podcast, that’s what the two have been intent on working with.
For the first episode, Pierce & Lopez talk to Tegan Quin of Tegan and Sara, about “her teenage bedroom, how nostalgia inspires her work and L Word.“
Of Hype Nostalgia TV, Lopez shares,
We wanted to find ways to connect with our fans during this album cycle since touring is not an option so we came up with the idea for HYPE NOSTALGIA TV. We interview some of our favorite artists about how nostalgia inspires their work, what their teenage bedrooms looked and felt like, their first jobs, etc. I’ve always been obsessed with the concept of nostalgia and how it moves me so I wanted to examine it a bit more with those that I admire. We’ll be releasing one every week and have some very special guests lined up!
