Toronto’s Young Empires graciously hit us with another catchy single, “Sunshine” which debuted over at SPIN as an “indie-pop delicacy.”
incase you’ve missed it, Young Empires have quickly caught ears with previous singles “The Gates” and “So Cruel” which both highlight the band’s penchant for crafting songs that effortlessly tread that line between dance and rock music. The Fader labeled “So Cruel” “pure, smooth electro-pop bliss” and Stereogum described it as “sounding something like Passion Pit might if they spent some serious time in Berlin’s finer house-music establishments / this is some top-shelf festival-pop.”
Young Empires also kick off their first round of tour dates of 2015. This leg kicks off next week in Detroit and includes stops in Chicago, Philadelphia and NYC. The full list of dates are:
