Iron Pier and Wild Moth are excited to stream and showcase the band’s upcoming new LP, Inhibitor, at Soundcloud. Recorded with Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Whirr) and Max Senna (Miserable), the new LP sees the Bay Area post-punk band hit a new gear, layering darkly textured guitars to create a shimmering river of pensive, jagged sound. Think modern shoegaze that mixes spikes of punk-infused energy, akin to Isn’t Anything-era My Bloody Valentine crossed with Drive Like Jehu.
Iron Pier and Wild Moth are also excited to announced that this fall the band will tour the full United States and select Canadian cities in support of the new LP. The full routing is listed below. Prior to the tour Wild Moth play their hometown twice– the Inhibitor record release party on September 11 and with Makthaverskan on October 2.
The band recently premiered a music video from Inhibitor at IMPOSE Magazine and other singles at Brooklyn Vegan, and Substream Magazine. The full-length is the follow-up to Wild Moth’s 2013 debut album on Asian Man Records, Over, Again, and most recently a split 7″ with fellow Bay Area post-punks Creative Adult and the Iron Pier-released digital/flexi single, “Mirror.”
IMPOSE Magazine described Wild Moth’s recent Iron Pier single, “Mirror” as “a developing deterrence from punk’s normal furies, replacing harshness with tonal melancholy and pleasantly morbid curiosity” and Substream Magazine called “You Found Out” “a haunting and heavy post-punk dirge.”
Inhibitor is due out on Iron Pier August 28. Limited vinyl pre-orders are now up at Iron Pier’s web site. Iron Pier also recently partnered with Wild Moth to host the band’s entire back catalog on Bandcamp, available for free download up through this Friday’s album release.
