Visionary psychedelic metal band TODAY IS THE DAY has announced a short run of tour dates through the Northeastern US in August.
The new shows mark TODAY IS THE DAY’s first block of tour dates since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020, when the band was halfway through their tour across the entire country in support of their BMG-released No Good To Anyone LP and was forced to cancel the second half and return home. Founder Steve Austin used the downtime during the lockdowns to secure the rights to every one of the band’s albums, relaunching his SuperNova Records label. With the entire catalog now under one roof, the label reissued the band’s entire back-catalog digitally and began rolling out additional TODAY IS THE DAY recordings, rare gems, previously unreleased material. The label has been repressing the catalog in updated physical incarnations, so far resulting in proper vinyl reissues of the band’s seminal first three albums – Supernova, Willpower, and Today Is The Day – all initially released on Amphetamine Reptile in the early-mid 1990s.
Having played a few select one-off shows since the pandemic, including the massive Hellfest in France last year, TODAY IS THE DAY will return to the road substantially in 2024, leading with this special run of four dates in August. The band will play Manchester, Wallingford, Brooklyn, and Portland August 8th through 11th, where they’ll perform a minimum of one track from every record in the band’s extensive catalog.
Steve Austin writes, “Psyched to hit to hit the road for these shows and get to hang out with my friends. We’re going to be playing a set that includes at least one song from every single TITD record. Hope to see everybody there, and I can’t wait to rock these show my buds, Tom Jack and Colin Frecknall.”
