Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Purgatory is the latest in a string of band’s bringing recognition to the Midwest hardcore scene. Since forming in 2011, the metal-influenced hardcore five-piece has made a name for themselves supporting the Rabid Visions and Hell On Earth EPs with consistent touring throughout the entire U.S., including shows alongside Terror, Merauder, Ringworm, and The Beautiful Ones.
“Death Toll” – the first song from the band’s upcoming Gospel Of War EP – is exclusively streaming now via Lambgoat: http://lambgoat.com/features/270/Purgatory-Death-Toll-song-premiere
Recorded by Andrew Nelson at Bricktop Studios (Harm’s Way, Discourse, Weekend Nachos) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audio Siege (Xibalba, Code Orange, All Pigs Must Die), Gospel Of War is the band’s first proper release since the self-released Rabid Vision EP in 2013. The six-track EP features original art from The Banner frontman Joey Southside and will be released this Winter on 7” vinyl – available on three color-ways – and all digital formats via Escapist Records.
Purgatory will be embarking on a West coast tour to promote the upcoming release of Gospel Of War, including dates with The Beautiful Ones, Bent Life, Liar’s Tongue, and Heavens Final War as well as an appearance at Hope For Shelter Fest with Stigmata, Drown, Gatecreeper, and more.
